CZ: Tokenization Fuels Crypto’s Future
Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao says the integration of crypto with traditional finance is a breakthrough but comes with clear risks. Speaking at Bitcoin Asia in Hong Kong, he called public-company bitcoin treasuries and ETFs “fantastic,” as they open access to institutional capital that once couldn’t participate at scale. He emphasized that tokenization of real-world assets — from stablecoins and treasury bills to real estate — is rapidly funneling billions into crypto, effectively linking equity markets and blockchain.
Still, CZ warned of potential failures. Some treasury firms may be using crypto holdings to inflate stock prices, while others lack the expertise to weather downturns. He stressed that bear markets will test these strategies, pointing to MicroStrategy’s struggles and later success as an example.
While larger capital inflows could stabilize markets long term, volatility will persist. CZ urged investors to approach new treasuries and tokens cautiously, highlighting that maturity lowers risk.
