Strategy Resumes Aggressive Bitcoin Buying
Strategy, the world’s largest publicly traded bitcoin holder, has resumed accumulation, purchasing 1,229 BTC for roughly $109 million. The latest buy lifts the company’s total holdings to 672,497 bitcoin, according to a regulatory filing released Monday.
The purchase was executed at an average price of $88,568 per coin and was funded through the sale of $108.8 million in Class A common stock. The move follows a brief pause in buying, during which Strategy strengthened its U.S. dollar reserves to approximately $2.2 billion.
In total, Strategy has now invested about $50.4 billion into bitcoin, with an average acquisition cost of just under $75,000 per BTC. The company continues to reinforce its long-term, balance-sheet-focused bitcoin strategy under the leadership of Michael Saylor.
Following the announcement, Strategy shares slipped around 1% in premarket trading, while bitcoin traded near the $87,000 level.
